Research Assistant
Tasks & Responsibilities
• Help run day-to-day experiments
• Keep lab equipment clean, calibrated, and ready to go.
• Collect and record data, then analyse it using a range of scientific tools and techniques.
• Pitch in on improving existing experiments and helping refine processes.
• Work with the team to solve any issues that come up and make sense of results together.
• Stay informed about new developments in Chemistry or Physics by checking the latest research and joining team discussions.
• Assist with putting together reports, presentations, and other research documents.
• Follow all lab safety guidelines and help maintain a safe workspace for everyone.
Skills
• Previous lab experience is a big plus.
• Solid understanding of Chemistry or Physics, depending on the role focus.
• Comfortable using scientific equipment, running experiments, and analysing data.
• Great organisational skills and able to juggle tasks when things get busy.
• Strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a team.
• High attention to detail, especially when it comes to recording data accurately.
• Flexible and able to adapt when priorities shift.
Preferred Skills
• Good grasp of research methods and how to interpret findings.
• Confident with hands-on lab work and genuinely interested in experimental research.
• Experience using equipment like ICP-MS, UV-Vis, electrochemical tools, and standard lab glassware.
• Awareness of chemical handling rules, safety standards, and proper storage practices.
• Able to turn complex results into clear, easy-to-understand technical or non-technical write-ups.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a bonus.
