Phillip Riley is proud to partner exclusively with MPower, a trusted Australian renewable energy company with more than 30 years’ experience delivering innovative, reliable, and commercially successful power solutions. MPower is a recognised leader in distribution-scale renewable generation, battery storage, and hybrid energy systems, servicing government, utility, and corporate clients nationwide.
In 2025, MPower’s renewable energy and battery storage business was acquired by Wollemi Energy Group, a climate-focused investor dedicated to accelerating the global transition to net zero. This partnership provides MPower with the capital strength, strategic backing, and long-term pipeline to expand its portfolio of distributed solar and BESS assets across Australia.
Backed by Wollemi’s investment and industry reach, MPower is exceptionally well positioned to scale rapidly and play a defining role in Australia’s clean energy future.
Phillip Riley is proud to support MPower in this campaign. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth renewable energy business that builds, owns, and operates its projects - offering a more impactful, long-term role than a traditional EPC environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Delivery, the Project Manager will take full ownership of delivering MPower’s portfolio of distribution-scale renewable energy projects (typically ~5MW) from FID through to completion and handover.
Rather than focusing on a single large utility-scale project, you’ll manage multiple concurrent developments, giving you broader exposure, faster progression, and the chance to influence portfolio-wide outcomes.
This role is ideal for candidates from a Tier 1 EPC who are looking to move into a client-side environment—one where you’ll guide projects through the full life-cycle within a business that builds, owns, and operates its assets.
You’ll oversee the technical, commercial, contractual, and delivery elements of each project, while leading a cross-functional team including Construction Managers, Procurement, Contracts, and Engineering. You will also manage project budgets and CAPEX allocations for ~$10m assets.
With four new projects expected to reach FID before December, you will step straight into meaningful delivery responsibilities across the East Coast portfolio.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple solar and BESS projects from mobilisation through commissioning and handover.
- Manage project cost, schedule, risk, and quality performance in line with approved budgets and plans.
- Oversee contract administration, variations, and claims to safeguard MPower’s commercial position.
- Coordinate detailed design reviews, grid connection milestones, and commissioning with internal teams and contractors.
- Champion compliance with MPower’s HSEQ and ESG frameworks, ensuring safe, responsible, and high-quality delivery.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management.
- 8+ years’ experience managing large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
- Proven capability managing distribution-connected assets (11/22/33kV).
- Strong commercial acumen and contract administration skills under Australian Standards.
- Proficient in Primavera/MS Project and project management systems such as Procore.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a rapidly scaling Australian renewable energy business with the financial reach of Wollemi Energy Group behind it. You’ll gain broad project exposure, work closely with an experienced leadership team, and play a meaningful role in Australia’s distributed clean energy transition, all while stepping into a role that offers genuine progression, stability, and long-term impact.
