Project Developer – Sydney
Phillip Riley partners exclusively with an IPP to hire a Project Developer to deliver high-impact renewable energy projects across NSW & VIC.
- Utility-scale wind, solar and BESS projects
- Work alongside an experienced Development team
- 150-180k Base salary + super + incentives
This role will support the Development Managers in progressing renewable energy projects across wind, solar and battery storage from early-stage planning through to Final Investment Decision. You will work closely with internal technical, commercial and legal teams, as well as a broad range of external stakeholders, to ensure projects progress efficiently and responsibly through the development lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to gain exposure to large-scale renewable projects within a well-capitalised, global IPP.
Key Responsibilities
Project Development Support
- Support the origination, design and development of wind, solar and BESS projects
- Assist in preparing project delivery plans, schedules and work breakdown structures
- Track progress against project timelines and provide regular updates to the Development Manager
- Identify, document and support mitigation of project risks
- Assist with environmental assessments and planning approvals, working with external consultants
- Support procurement processes, grid connection studies, yield assessments and technical design development
- Coordinate inputs from Engineering, Energy Markets, Finance and Legal teams
- Engage with planning authorities, regulators and network operators
- Support landowner, community and broader stakeholder engagement to maintain social licence
- Assist in managing internal stakeholder priorities and project deadlines
- Stay informed on relevant renewable energy policy and regulatory developments
- 2+ years’ professional experience in renewable energy, resources, consulting, planning or a related field
- Exposure to wind, solar or BESS project development in NSW or VIC
- A basic understanding of commercial, land, planning, grid and energy resource considerations
- Strong coordination, communication and project support skills
- The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering, Commerce, Science, Planning, Property or Law (or similar)
- Willingness to travel interstate and to regional project sites
- Full Australian driver’s licence
- Full Australian working rights
- Exposure to utility-scale renewable and storage projects
