About the role

With a Monday to Friday, 7am-3pm schedule (no FIFO/DIDO offered) it’s an ideal opportunity for someone locally based who values routine, being home every night, and a more predictable day-to-day.
This role will see you supporting the safe and efficient operation of a utility-scale solar farm, with a focus on mechanical maintenance and site upkeep. Working predominantly in the field, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring plant performance and reliability across all mechanical assets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across mechanical plant and associated structures
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair key equipment including tracker systems, machinery, and site assets
- Monitor asset performance through routine inspections and complete maintenance work orders accurately
- Support day-to-day site operations, working closely with the Site Manager, electricians, and external contractors
- Undertake general site upkeep including vegetation management, panel cleaning, and operation of plant equipment
Skills / qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar mechanical or trade-based role
- Valid driver’s licence (C Class) and High Risk Work Licence
- Exposure to solar farm mechanical systems (e.g. trackers, panel structures) or a strong willingness to learn
- Relevant trade qualification (Certificate II or III in Engineering/Mechanical - Fitting & Machining highly regarded)
- Strong safety mindset with the ability to complete basic reporting and use systems for maintenance tracking
