The Transformer Technician plays a key, customer-facing role in delivering high-quality service, maintenance, and testing to power and distribution transformers.
Working both on-site and in our advanced manufacturing facility, you’ll ensure our transformers continue to operate safely, efficiently, and reliably — supporting the backbone of Australia’s energy network.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, execute, and complete transformer service projects on-site and in the factory.
- Perform transformer installations, including offloading supervision, assembly, oil/fluid processing, and electrical testing.
- Carry out refurbishments, repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on transformers and associated equipment.
- Complete electrical work, including terminations, connections, testing, and fault-finding on wiring and control circuits.
- Operate and maintain transformer test and oil processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare and complete all site entry, safety, and compliance documentation.
- Provide direction and leadership to site teams to ensure goals and objectives are met.
- Champion the company’s guiding principles and promote a positive safety and teamwork culture.
- Trade qualification as an Electrical Technician or Electrician (A-Grade Licence desirable).
- Experience working with power or distribution transformers in assembly, testing, or maintenance.
- Strong understanding of HV/LV systems, electrical testing, and diagnostics.
- Current White Card, CPR/LVR, and valid Driver’s Licence.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites across Australia (occasional interstate work).
