About the Role
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Electrical Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the solar farm.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Site Manager and Construction Team with site activities, safety, compliance, inspections, testing, and commissioning.
- Conduct regular inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar and HV assets.
- Perform predictive monitoring tasks, HV switching, and maintenance in accordance with Iberdrola HV rules.
- working practices at all times.
- Participate in the on-call roster and support site tours and visitors.
- Working knowledge of SCADA/PLC systems.
- HV switching/operations certification and experience with HV terminations, testing, and fault finding.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings (schematics, SLDs).
- Experience with HV switchyard/substation testing and protection relay software.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with CMMS, MS Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology.
- Certification in HV Switching.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Operating and maintaining HV assets, particularly HV maintenance.
- Construction or maintenance of utility-scale solar projects
