Development Manager – Renewable Energy

A well-capitalised renewable energy investor and developer is seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead utility-scale solar, wind and battery storage projects from early development through to financial close.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of greenfield through to late-stage assets, within a highly commercial, fast-moving investment environment focused on accelerating Australia’s energy transition.

The Opportunity
You will take ownership of renewable energy projects across the full development lifecycle, working closely with internal investment teams and external stakeholders to progress projects into construction.
Just as important as what you deliver is how you work — collaboration, commercial thinking and a proactive mindset are key. This is a role for someone who enjoys autonomy, responsibility and operating with a start-up mentality inside an established platform.
Flexible working is supported, with a mix of office, home and site-based work.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project development including land access, approvals, grid connection, procurement, EPC contracting and PPAs
• Manage multidisciplinary internal and external project teams (planning, legal, grid, engineering, environmental)
• Own stakeholder engagement with landowners, communities, regulators and network service providers
• Run procurement processes and negotiate high-value contracts through to financial close
• Manage grid connection processes and work closely with NSPs and technical advisors
• Control project budgets, schedules, risks and reporting
• Prepare inputs for investment papers, board materials and commercial approvals
• Support investment, acquisition and due diligence activities
• Contribute to investor engagement, fundraising support and industry profile-raising

About You

• Proven experience in renewable energy project development (solar, wind and/or BESS preferred)
• Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects from development through to investment decision
• Strong project and contract management capability
• Commercial mindset with an understanding of investment drivers (IRR, risk, returns)
• Confident communicator able to engage at senior executive level
• Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Full Australian work rights (visa sponsorship not available)
