The Company

From their new facility in Melbourne, they can collaborate, conceive, test, and bring ideas into reality faster than any other competitor on the market.

The Position
The Control Systems Engineer will be involved in the design, commissioning, and operation of this new processing facility. Specifically, the Control Systems Engineer will be contributing to the development of an innovative manufacturing process.

Duties
  • In conjunction with process specialists, design control schemes for new material processing lines, then build, test and operate the systems.
  • Assist in the development of new capabilities for control system design, testing, certification and production.
  • Develop, program and implement control systems and control strategies for process manufacturing applications, simulating and testing to ensuring stability and reliability
  • Develop and maintain system documentation including functional specifications, design specifications, test plans, and operational manuals
  • Provide technical support to development and operational teams during system development, deployment and production.
  • Ensure all regulatory and safety requirements are met
  • Stay up to date with the latest control systems technologies and industry trends.
  • Ensure the safety of all activities, including safety procedures and risk assessments for development and production activities
  • Assist with submissions to all relevant certification authorities for approvals.
  • Establish systems and procedures for management of control system design data, in collaboration with company control system engineers at other sites.
  • Assist in continually improving the output of the team, using the company “objective framework” which is a data-driven approach to team performance management.
  • Maintain records of time spent on various projects for accounting purposes and assist with taxation and/or grant submissions.

Required Experience
  • Experience in control system design, installation testing and manufacturing.
  • PLC system design and programming, HMI design, programming, testing and operation.
  • Experience with Siemens PLCs and management systems
  • Experience with Beckhoff PLCs
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical, Mechatronic or Vehicle Engineering or equivalent.
