Phillip Riley is proud to partner exclusively with MPower, a trusted Australian renewable energy company with more than 30 years of experience delivering innovative and reliable power solutions. MPower has established itself as a leader in distribution-scale renewable generation, battery storage, and hybrid energy systems, servicing government, utility, and corporate clients nationwide.
In 2025, MPower’s renewable energy and battery storage business was acquired by Wollemi Energy Group, a climate-focused investment firm committed to accelerating the global transition to net zero. This partnership provides MPower with the capital strength, strategic support, and long-term stability to scale its pipeline of distributed solar and BESS assets across Australia.
Backed by Wollemi’s investment power and industry expertise, MPower is poised for substantial growth and is positioned to play a major role in Australia’s clean energy future.
Phillip Riley is proud to support MPower in this campaign. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing, well-funded renewable energy business that builds, owns, and operates its projects—offering broader impact and long-term continuity compared to traditional EPC roles.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Delivery, the Construction Manager will oversee the construction and execution of MPower’s distributed-scale solar and BESS projects across the East Coast.
You’ll be responsible for managing, directing, and holding the Principal Contractor/EPC accountable for delivery against scope, schedule, quality, and safety requirements. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a site-focused environment with regular travel and enjoys maintaining strong on-the-ground oversight during construction.
With four projects scheduled to reach FID before Christmas, you will step into a pipeline of active and upcoming works - taking a lead role in ensuring compliance, resolving site issues, and coordinating with engineering, commercial, and delivery teams.
MPower is open to appointing a strong Site Project Engineer or QA/QC Engineer with experience overseeing subcontractors, documentation, quality processes, and site-based reporting.
- Oversee and manage the Principal Contractor/EPC to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality project delivery.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and strengthen relationships with site teams and stakeholders.
- Drive adherence to MPower’s HSEQ and ESG frameworks and promote a culture of safety and procedural compliance.
- Work closely with engineering, commercial, and project management teams to maintain alignment across design, procurement, and construction milestones.
- Provide technical guidance throughout construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Trade or degree-qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects through the full construction lifecycle.
- Strong background in site-based supervision, construction compliance, or QA/QC within solar or battery storage.
- Demonstrated ability to manage EPCs, subcontractors, and complex stakeholder groups.
- Solid understanding of Australian Standards, WHS legislation, and quality assurance processes.
Joining MPower means stepping into a growing and well-supported renewable energy business backed by Wollemi Energy Group’s significant investment. You’ll work on high-impact projects, collaborate with a highly capable leadership team, and directly shape the delivery of Australia’s distributed clean energy infrastructure.
