Overview

A global clean energy organisation is expanding its presence across Australia, building a diversified portfolio of renewable generation and storage assets nationwide. The business is focused on delivering high-quality, sustainable energy solutions and is seeking an Asset Manager to support the ongoing optimisation and performance of its operational portfolio.

The Role
As an Asset Manager, you will be responsible for maximising asset performance, revenue, and long-term value across a portfolio of renewable energy assets. This role sits within a growing asset management function and will play a key part in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance, and contributing to continuous improvement across the portfolio lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Performance & Optimisation
  • Monitor technical and financial performance of operational assets
  • Identify performance gaps and implement improvement initiatives
  • Ensure assets operate in line with agreed commercial and trading strategies
  • Manage reporting timelines and deliver accurate internal and external reports
  • Prepare and submit annual operating plans to financing stakeholders
  • Oversee regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. emissions, compliance, generation reporting)
  • Develop and implement long-term performance optimisation strategies
  • Support business continuity planning activities
Contract Management
  • Oversee performance and compliance of O&M providers and other key contractors
  • Ensure adherence to asset management agreements and operational contracts
  • Maintain compliance with offtake agreements and grid connection requirements
  • Manage insurance requirements across the asset portfolio
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including network providers, market operators, lenders, customers, and service providers
  • Act as a key point of contact for operational and commercial matters
Regulatory & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, licences, and approvals
  • Manage any compliance breaches and coordinate remediation activities
  • Oversee grid compliance requirements and outage coordination in line with market rules
  • Maintain adherence to applicable infrastructure and security regulations
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Develop and manage operational budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor expenditure and optimise cost performance
  • Assess and prioritise capital expenditure initiatives
Project & Operational Support
  • Provide input to development and delivery teams on new projects and asset handovers
  • Support vendor selection and technical decision-making
  • Participate in project handover processes from construction into operations
Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the renewable energy sector, ideally 7+ years
  • Strong understanding of both technical and commercial aspects of asset management
  • Experience managing operational budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
  • Proven ability to manage contracts and engage with a range of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to renewable energy assets in Australia
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to site locations
  • Full Australian working rights and a valid driver's licence
