Phillip Riley has been retained by Marlborough Lines to find two ADMS Engineers keen to relocate to Blenheim in the South Island.

Marlborough Lines is seeking a motivated and technically skilled ADMS Engineer to join our Operational Technology team. About the Role
As the ADMS Engineer, you'll be a key driver in the design, development and continuous improvement of our Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) and existing Operational Technology (OT) systems. Working closely with cross-functional teams and under the guidance of the Operational Technology Manager, you'll help ensure our critical systems remain reliable, innovative and responsive to future challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, maintenance and development of SCADA and ADMS systems.
  • Configure, build, and test new and updated OT assets.
  • Support and optimise system performance for high availability in both routine and emergency operations.
  • Assist with configuration of PLCs, RTUs, WAN communication systems and protection equipment interfaces.
  • Enhance system integration, security, and reporting capabilities.
  • Document technical standards, procedures and guides for ongoing system improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry legislation, safety regulations and best practices.
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (NZQA Level 7). Or Washington accord accredited equivalent.
  • At least 5-10 years’ post-grad experience, which includes control systems experience within the electricity supply industry.
  • Strong understanding of SCADA/ADMS environments
  • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Linux, SQL, and virtual computing environments.
  • Experience in electrical distribution network engineering.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments and with external contractors.
