What you’ll do
- Deliver conceptual and detailed HV primary substation designs for transmission and distribution projects.
- Produce layouts, clearance checks, specifications, earthing, cable sizing, and constructability reviews.
- Apply the latest 2D and 3D digital design tools to diverse client requirements.
- Collaborate with senior specialists while mentoring junior engineers.
- Take responsibility for packages of work, ensuring on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery.
- Engage directly with clients and stakeholders, providing trusted advice.

- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering.
- Senior to Technical Director level experience in primary HV substation design; secondary design skills welcome.
- Strong technical capability in drawings, calculations, and QA.
- Skilled with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Autodesk packages.
- Familiar with New Zealand and Australian HV standards.
- Organised, adaptable, and motivated to deliver quality outcomes.
