Are you a regulatory economist (qualified or via extensive industry expertise) who wants to be at the heart of Australia’s clean energy transition?

Phillip Riley is partnering with the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) to appoint an Associate Director – Regulatory Advisor to its Rewiring the Nation (RTN) program. This is a unique opportunity to join the Grid Team and utilise your regulatory expertise to unlock billions in clean energy infrastructure investment.

The Opportunity
  • Be CEFC’s go-to expert on transmission & distribution regulation.
  • Identify regulatory risks and opportunities, and work as part of the Grid Team to translate these into commercially viable solutions that enable projects like renewable energy zones and transmission upgrades.
  • Drive and influence reforms that accelerate grid modernisation and increase private sector investment into Australia’s clean energy transition.
  • Lead engagement with government, AEMO, AER, AEMC, network businesses, and investors.
About You
  • 5+ years’ regulatory experience in a TNSP, DNSP, market body, government agency, or consultancy.
  • Strong grasp of energy market conditions and the public policy environment.
  • Commercial acumen – able to balance regulation with investment drivers and risk.
  • Skilled communicator who can influence diverse stakeholders, from boards to government.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments.
