Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer

Phillip Riley have partnered with a leading international engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Transmission Line Design Engineer to join their growing Australian team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to HV transmission projects, while playing a key role in the technical delivery of world-class energy infrastructure.

The Role You will act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, delivering detailed engineering and design of transmission line towers and foundations.

Responsibilities:

• Designing transmission line structures using PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, and PLS-POLE.
• Developing foundation designs, including pile foundations.
• Reviewing and validating design deliverables such as tower profiles, schedules, and structural drawings.
• Leading and supporting technical studies, calculations, and design reports.
• Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance.
• Participating in client meetings, site visits, and technical reviews.
• Supporting business development activities by building strong client relationships

Experience:

• 10+ years’ experience in transmission line structure design within Australia.
• Strong technical expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-TOWER modelling.
• In-depth knowledge of AS/NZS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Chartered or Registered Engineer status (CPEng, NER, or equivalent) is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A proactive, detail-focused approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
