About the Role
Illuma Energy are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Renewable Energy Asset Manager to oversee the performance, compliance, and financial returns of a 652 MW portfolio of renewable energy assets, including solar, wind, and the Victorian Big Battery (VBB). With a multi-GW pipeline of projects under development, the successful Renewable Energy Asset Manager will contribute directly to the green-energy transition with Illuma Energy. Reporting to the Head of Asset Management, the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of renewable energy operations, compliance management, O&M management, data-driven performance analysis and work with the broader team to comply with project finance requirements ensuring optimal returns and long-term value for Illuma Energy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Asset Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of the Illuma Energy renewable energy portfolio, ensuring they meet performance and financial targets.
• Performance Monitoring: Utilize SCADA systems and performance software to track asset performance, analyse KPIs, and identify underperformance or maintenance needs.
• Financial Management: Prepare and manage budgets, forecast revenues and expenditures, and ensure alignment with investment goals.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between 3rd party asset management, land owners, O & M Teams, the Illuma Energy Trading team, off-takers & utilities.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all assets are compliant with safety, local regulations, generator performance standards, environmental standards, and contractual obligations. Generate weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
• Contract Management: Working with the Commercial Manager to oversee and manage terms of O&M agreements, PPAs, TNSP agreements, post COD EPC and DLP obligations and land leases.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to operations, market conditions, SOCI and regulatory changes and maintain risk registers.
• Lifecycle Planning: Contribute to long-term asset strategies including repowering, refinancing, or divestment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering (preference for mechanical or electrical), Science, Renewable Energy, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy asset management and/or project operations.
• Strong knowledge of optimisation of assets, including planning outages around energy markets cycles, renewable technologies, and power purchase agreements (PPAs)
• Proficient in asset management software and tools (e.g., MS excel, PowerBI, SQL)
• Excellent analytical, financial modelling, and project management skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to travel as required (all current operational assets are in Victoria)

Preferred Experience:

• Experience managing utility-scale generation assets including BESS and wind.
