Senior Development Leader – NSW & ACT We are partnering with a well-capitalised renewable energy platform to appoint a Senior Development Leader to oversee large-scale renewable energy project development across NSW and the ACT.

This is a senior role reporting to the Head of Project Development, responsible for leading projects from origination through approvals, financial close and into construction.

The initial focus will be early-stage, utility-scale BESS developments, with additional opportunities in the pipeline.

Role Overview You will:

• Lead assigned projects from origination through to financial close and construction
• Act as the primary project leader for developments in the NSW/ACT region
• Support origination aligned with the broader investment strategy
• Oversee project management including budgeting, scheduling and risk mitigation
• Coordinate internal multidisciplinary teams and external consultants
• Support environmental approvals (DA, EIS, EPBC and other statutory processes)
• Contribute to stakeholder engagement with regulators, landowners and community groups
• Support grid connection processes with technical teams
• Assist with investment approval documentation and reporting
• Support transition into construction delivery

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience in large infrastructure project development (renewables required)
• Strong experience within NSW and/or ACT approvals frameworks
• Proven leadership of complex stakeholder engagement programs
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and consultants
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate autonomously within a remote structure
• Commercial maturity, structured thinking and sound judgement
• High self-motivation in a fast-paced environment

Location & Travel

• Open to candidates located between Sydney and Canberra who can travel regularly to regional project sites
• Flexible WFH + site-based arrangement

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, planning, law, environment or related discipline
• Project management qualifications and/or professional accreditation are highly regarded
• Current driver’s licence
• Full Australian working rights
• Resides in Canberra or Sydney and can travel as needed to regional sites in NSW & ACT
