Lead Power Systems Engineer required to provide technical and team leadership for a leading consultancy in Brisbane

Phillip Riley is working with a Tier 1 engineering consultancy who are seeking an experienced Power Systems professional to join the team in Brisbane.
You will lead the established team of 5 engineers, joining a wider team of 40 engineers across Australia.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced power systems engineer (minimum of senior engineer level) to grow the grid connection expertise in the NEM.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead the team delivering grid integration and power systems support for large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
  • Provide technical expertise in Power Systems modelling (PSSE, PSCAD, Power Factory)
  • Advise stakeholders on network connection pathways, compliance requirements, technical studies and operational performance within the NEM.
  • Work collaboratively with clients and cross-functional specialists to deliver reliable and future-focused network solutions.
  • Supported team development through mentoring, inclusive leadership and strategic hiring to strengthen organisational capability and technical expertise.

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum of a senior engineer with experience delivering multiple grid connection projects.
  • Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems, ideally with certification from Engineers Australia.
  • Proficiency in the power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD. DigSILENT Power Factor and ETAP.
  • NER compliance, working alongside AEMO and NSP's to deliver utility scale renewable energy projects.

Desirable:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams and mentor junior employees.
  • Diversity of experience in electrical network engineering.
  • Great industry connections, and ability to bring in new business
