Our client is a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, specialising in the design, delivery and management of innovative energy projects. They partner with commercial and industrial clients to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable energy solutions across grid-connected, off-grid and hybrid power systems.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Business Development Manager to identify new opportunities, build strategic relationships, and develop tailored energy solutions for clients throughout Western Australia.
This is an autonomous role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, creating opportunities, and working directly with clients to solve complex energy challenges.
The Role
Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across a diverse range of industries. Working closely with technical and project delivery teams, you will engage with organisations experiencing challenges with their existing power infrastructure and develop practical, commercially viable renewable energy solutions.
Travel within Western Australia will form part of the role, including occasional trips to the Pilbara and North West.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities across commercial, industrial and remote energy markets.
- Build strong relationships with clients operating grid-connected, off-grid and hybrid power systems.
- Identify opportunities where renewable energy, battery storage or hybrid solutions can improve existing power infrastructure, including diesel and microgrid applications.
- Develop tailored energy solutions incorporating fixed-price energy models and Power Purchase Agreements.
- Build long-term relationships with key stakeholders, consultants, EPC contractors and industry partners.
- Manage multiple client relationships across various sites throughout Western Australia.
- Work collaboratively with internal engineering and project teams to deliver technically and commercially sound solutions.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Western Australian energy market, network infrastructure and emerging rnewable technologies.
About You
You are a self-motivated Business Development Manager with an established network within the Western Australian energy sector. While previous experience with Power Purchase Agreements is advantageous, it is not essential. More importantly, you understand the market, know how to open doors, and can identify opportunities where innovative energy solutions create value for clients.
You'll ideally bring:
- Proven success in business development within the energy, power generation or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience working with clients operating multiple sites or complex energy assets.
- A strong understanding of grid-connected, off-grid, hybrid, diesel and microgrid power systems.
- The ability to identify client challenges and develop practical, value-driven energy solutions.
- Existing relationships within the WA energy industry and the ability to engage key decision-makers.
- Experience developing relationships with EPC contractors and other project delivery partners.
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Technical knowledge of renewable energy, power systems or electrical infrastructure would be highly regarded.
- The ability to work independently while managing your own pipeline and priorities.
- Willingness to travel throughout Western Australia, including occasional visits to the Pilbara and North West.
